​Our client is seeking an experienced Cost Drafts person to join their team based in Warrington.

You will handle claims for costs covering all areas of costs work including RTA, Employers Liability and Public Liability, Clinical Negligence and Professional Negligence

Duties & Responsibilities

• Preparing Formal Bills of Costs

• Preparing Precedent H’s and dealing with all aspects of the cost budgeting process

• Drafting and dealing with Points of Dispute and Replies

• Drafting Schedules for summary assessment

• Provide advice to fee earners and run matters to assessment

• Liaising with Defendant/Claimant Solicitors, Counsel and Court

• Negotiate Settlement as quickly as possible and on the best terms available

• Dealing with Portal/fixed cost queries

• Ability to use own initiative and make decisions

• Plan and prioritise work load

• Excellent listening and verbal and written skills

• Good telephone negotiation skills

• Follow Firm work procedures and keep to strategy

• Ability to remain calm under pressure

• Anticipate problems and identify solutions

• Good IT and Case Management skills

Job Type: Full-time Monday-Friday 37.5 hours per week
