Job Description: We are looking for an experienced compliance hire to join this exciting and fast growing Vehicle Financing business in London focused on Electric Vehicles. This individual will be focused on implementing the compliance plan.
Key responsibilities include:
· Implementing the compliance plan into the business to ensure there are robust controls and a strong framework for this fast growing dynamic business
· Ensuring compliance is embedded within the business
Horizon scanning - keeping up to date with all relevant laws, regulations, and best practice
Implementing a regime of three lines of defence and structure
Formulating processes to ensure all is being delivered well within Regulatory controls
Creating a reporting structure for the SMT and board that summarises the key risk factors for the business, particularly in regard to regulatory compliance
Regular Compliance Reviews / Testing: Ensuring policies and procedures are followed by the team including
Where issues are identified, recording issues and following up with senior management, including conducting root cause analyses and recommending appropriate mitigating actions, with plans for tracking through those actions to completion
Investigating complaints and identifying with the SMT any remediation action required
Developing proportionate and compliant policies and procedures in line with legal and regulatory requirements
Reviewing and updating procedures to reflect changes in legislation and the business
Educating and training employees not only on relevant laws, regulations, and best practice, but also on the implications of non-compliance
Engaging with the Regulator when required, alongside the CEO
Being the POC within the business for Compliance related questions
Maintaining all required records, including breaches, complaints, operational risk MI and KPIs, as appropriate
Own and draft formal reports to the business, including monthly reports to the Board
Create and run Operational Risk and regulatory compliance meetings
Act as Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO), providing direction in this area for the rest of the company
The Person
The company is looking for a dedicated, hardworking, and ambitious individual who is able to engage in a hands-on role in a fast-paced growth environment.To be considered suitable you will need to be:
· Sector Experience in an FCA Regulated Financial Services Business in the Consumer Lending area. This could be:
o Motor / Car Finance
o General Consumer lending e.g. Credit Cards, Short Term Loans, Banking
o Working for a Regulatory Consultant in this area
· Excellent knowledge of the FCA CONC requirements
· Adaptable to change and highly organised
· Good report writing
· Knowledge of AML
· A team player
· Approachable and engaging with the rest of the team
