Job Description:

Working for a large hospitality business focussed on Leisure, this role will be supporting the FCA authorised activities of the business in their lending arm and in their insurance intermediary business.  This role will be reporting to the Senior Compliance Manager, working alongside other members of an established team.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working with the Manager, to establish and maintain an effective and robust compliance risk assessment process supporting the compliance plan and strategic direction of any regulatory and relevant business needs
  • Providing compliance support and guidance to the business
  • Establish an effective compliance monitoring programme across the business to monitor on going regulatory and legislative compliance. This will include performing monitoring reviews, analysing results and assisting management on making any changes needed
  • Work with key stakeholders to understand any implications of new regulations or changes to existing regulations / legislation which would affect the business
  • Assist in the reporting requirements for the FCA and other relevant bodies
  • Work with the management on developing appropriate compliance policies and processes
  • Drive a positive culture around compliance and support operational managers in implementing these initiatives
  • Work with the team on the development of a Financial Crime framework and respond to any queries from the business in regards to this topic
  • Manage any regulatory projects – such as SMCR and assist with the implementation of Conduct Risk training and on-going awareness of compliance, also providing support to SMF’s on an ongoing basis

 

 

Preferred Skills:

 

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a compliance role
  • Financial Services experience (FCA reporting) – preferably within a similar product market of Consumer credit and Insurance
  • Knowledge of Financial Crime
  • Experience in developing compliance training programmes
  • Compliance monitoring experience
  • Confident and persuasive approach to help non-technical practitioners understand compliance
  • Ability to work in a broad capacity in a commercial environment
  • Must have good attention to detail and a strong proactive approach to compliance
