Our financial services client is looking for a Compliance Officer who will have responsibility for advising and supporting the business to carry out its regulatory obligations and ensuring good customer outcomes are delivered. The role sits within the Compliance Function which acts as the company’s second line of defence in the ‘three lines of defence model’ and is responsible for advising, overseeing, monitoring and challenging the company’s compliance with relevant regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide timely, clear and pragmatic regulatory risk advice and support to the business
- Provide advice and support in relation to relevant business initiatives, business change and projects
- Review and sign off financial promotions prior to a product launch
- Support the Head of Compliance in producing MI and reports for the monthly Risk & Compliance Management Committee and quarterly Audit, Risk & Compliance Board Committee
- Act as deputy for the Head of Compliance when necessary and attend the Risk & Compliance Management Committee in their absence
- Assist the Head of Compliance in defining and maintaining the company’s Compliance Operating Policy and the development of the Compliance Function’s manual and procedures
- Provide ad hoc regulatory training as and when required
- Assist the Head of Compliance with the development of the company’s annual Compliance Monitoring Plan
The Person:
- Good understanding of the regulatory environment in relation to savings and mortgages
- Knowledge and experience in retail conduct risk related issues
- Strong experience of providing advice and guidance on regulatory standards
