We have been instructed on an interesting opportunity with a not-for-profit, insurance organisation who are looking for a Compliance Monitoring Officer to join their Governance, Risk and Compliance department.

As Compliance Monitoring Officer you will work in the 2nd line of defence of the Group's three lines of defence model to provide oversight by carrying out compliance monitoring reviews to ensure the business is meeting its regulatory obligations and risks are mitigated.

Role Responsibilities:

Perform compliance monitoring on all aspects of the (primarily) PRA/FCA regulated activities within the Group to assess compliance with applicable regulations, standards, and outcomes.

Collaborate with the GRC team and business stakeholders to finalise reports for presentation and submission to relevant boards and sub-committees, in line with the requirements of the plan.

Attending boards and sub-committees as required to present monitoring findings and recommendations.

Support the review/update of the compliance function's policies and procedures to ensure they remain appropriate, relevant, and effective.

Assist the GRC team in reviews of material Business Incidents.

Collaborate with the GRC team to analyse MI to identify areas for review to be included in the Compliance Monitoring Plan.

Work with the Compliance Manager to regularly assess the relevance and focus of the Compliance Monitoring Plan.

Tracking of monitoring actions through to successful

Key Skills and Experience

Strong demonstrable experience working in a compliance monitoring role in a FCA regulated insurance and/or financial services business.

Strategic thinker with expert understanding of FCA and PRA principles, rules, and best practice with a proactive and professional approach

Experience of designing monitoring plans and managing and continually improving compliance monitoring methodology.

Ability to communicate and influence complex regulatory matters in a way that is tailored to the relevant audience.

Positive approachable open-door mind set which is solution focused, delivering first class customer outcomes whilst balancing commercial imperatives.

Professional, proactive and an independent thinker, able to work and drive.
