An innovative and dynamic Bank is currently looking to appoint a Senior Compliance Monitoring Manager in their London office. Our client offers a full suite of products and services to developing businesses in the UK, including current and deposit accounts, loans, cash management services, trade finance and foreign exchange. The Bank has had a presence in the UK for over 10 years providing access to financing solutions for some of the highest profile and fastest growing UK-based technology companies.

The Role:

Providing oversight for the Compliance Monitoring team, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing and performing monitoring activities of regulatory requirements
  • Carrying out compliance research for monitoring activities and any ad hoc requests
  • The design, ownership and creation of monitoring procedures, workpapers and management reports for regulatory areas
  • Responsibility for designing, creating and updating the compliance risk assessments
  • Work with Internal Audit on their reviews and support effective coordination across all business areas including remediation of findings
  • Incident and event management, including risk investigations and reporting
  • Creation and maintenance of risk control frameworks
  • Advice and guidance to the business on risk issues (BAU and projects)
  • Attendance at relevant industry events and forums                                                                                                                                 

The ideal candidate should have the following profile:

  • Relevant compliance monitoring ideally gained within a banking environment
  • Solid analytical and issue-spotting
  • Good understanding of the regulatory framework within a bank
  • A strong sense of ethics, sound business judgment and the desire to be a business-orientated problem solver
  • The ability to work on confidential and sensitive matters and exercising good judgement in the execution of the role
  • Industry leadership - the need to stay abreast of industry developments and attend industry events as a representative of the company
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
