MERJE are currently partnering with an exciting international wellness business to recruit a Compliance Manager. They are growing rapidly as an international retailer, manufacturer and distributer as well as being a market leader within their industry.  They offer a flexible, supportive and collaborative work culture where they encourage all individuals to get involved and drive the business.

Working alongside the Global Quality, Compliance and New Product teams, the Compliance Manager will need to take an adaptable and commercial approach to meet business' needs. Along with managing a team of two, you will ensure compliance and regulatory sign off for all products for multiple country regulatory requirements and across all retail channels; including global websites, marketplaces such as Amazon, Ebay and B2B partner channels within mainstream FMCG.                                                              

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Responsible for identifying the applicable product related legislation in the technical, export control and other areas with the exception of Finance and managing the development of strategies, policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legislation, including but not limited to UK, USA, EU, AUS, CA.

 

  •  Monitor activities to ensure compliance with policies and procedures are updated and inline with current legislation

 

  •  To interface with global compliance bodies, export control organisations, test houses, customers and audit bodies.

 

  •  To provide a regulatory advice function within the commercial business supporting teams within Sales, Trading, Marketplaces

 

  • Maintain processes and procedures for Export Control working with the Warehouse and Logistics team to ensure compliance

 

  • To ensure that processes are followed across the product team to capture all regulatory certification and compliance for all products both third party and own brand

 

  • Manage and sign off product testing and certification against annual approved budget

 

  • Capable of analysing complex legislation or regulations and development of commercially feasible strategies to ensure compliance

 

Requirements

  • Significant experience of compliance testing for the EU (CE Marking) and worldwide

 

  • Capable of analysing complex legislation or regulations and development of commercially feasible strategies to ensure compliance

 

 

  • Experience with mainstream and marketplace customers who have a defined supplier manual
  • Ability to resolve issues and problems with products that fail the compliance testing and able to demonstrate that ability

 

  • Proven track record of delivering robust procedures and processes to control and record compliance on a large number of SKU's

 

  • Experience of working within a highly regulated environment especially export controlled

 

  • Excellent working relationship with compliance bodies, test houses, customers and audit bodies
