My client is looking for a Commercial Director following a period of rapid growth coupled with positive future prospects and a growing pipeline of properties under management. This is an important leadership role reporting to the Managing Director and a critical part of the senior leadership team, managing commercial performance across the business.

 The Commercial Director will be the Managing Director's commercial conscience, ensuring that targeted margin is achieved, new opportunities are identified and appropriately priced and risks are managed.

Key responsibilities:

Provide strong and effective leadership of all aspects of commercial performance; develop and guide the commercial strategy across the Homes business.

Work with operational directors to review all contracts to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.

Review contracts across the business to identify synergies in delivery and opportunities to reduce costs and maximise contribution.

Identify opportunities to increase business from existing channels and clients.

Liaise with operational directors and the Bidding and Growth team to appraise new business opportunities, develop pricing models, contribute to tenders and produce detailed reviews of proposed contracts.

Maintain an overview of relevant macro-economic trends, and associated industry-specific dynamics.

Work closely and establish strong relationships with contract leads and their teams Ensure that contracted service levels are understood, and associated KPIs / SLAs are actively managed and financial deductions minimised.

 Review and work with Group commercial and legal team to negotiate and agree contractual terms.

Support operational directors in minimising contract disputes and resolving disputes.

 Assist in ensuring robust sub-contract processes and procedures are in place

Risk management - early identification of potential problems, development of risk mitigation strategies, and timely escalation where necessary



Skills & Experience

       Substantial commercial management experience ideally in a complex operating environment.

Measurable success in the delivery of cost efficiencies and margin improvements across contracts.

Ability to engage and influence at a senior level, both within the organisation and externally

Resilient and positive in a demanding and changing environment, with the capacity to deliver results to tight deadlines and under pressure.

 Agile and ability to multi-task, pivot and prioritise different projects Great verbal and written communication skills, and excellent programme and project management skills.

 Highly numerate and detail oriented, excellent financial and IT skills, experienced in building and critiquing commercial models.
