Full time, permanent – 35hours between 9am-5pm

We are recruiting for an experienced Business Services Team Manager to join a fast paced, growing, well-established company based in Chatham.

Team Manager Role:

The key purpose of this role is to support and manage a small team, based in the UK and India, in the development and delivery of assigned governance and oversight for the Groups regulatory reporting activities.

Manager Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-going management, ensuring full compliance to regulatory rules, guidance, and operational key risk indicators (KRI’s).

  • Manage and coach a small support team, in the delivery of agreed schedule of events relating to key regulatory activity across the Groups Savings and Mortgages portfolios.

  • Develop and conduct Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) standards, ensuring all departments are documenting accordingly.

  • Develop effective department SLAs, KPIs and quality standards which are aligned to the agreed intragroup arrangements, ensuring these are relevant and aligned to staff objectives and reporting.

  • Work closely with partners to ensure appropriate control activity and mitigation of risk.

  • Supporting new regulatory reporting requirements by providing expert knowledge and leading on the implementation into BAU; staying up to date with regulatory change, as required by the relevant regulatory bodies.

  • Development and review department training material and workable training documentation for all processes and activities which you are responsible for.

  • Be able to work with a range of stakeholders across the Group and assigned third parties to ensure successful delivery of business activities and controls

  • Act as an ‘Operational Champion’ for core business processes and initiatives to ensure robust standards and practises are in place.

  • Act as an excellent communicator that demonstrates the ability to influence with integrity and trust.

  • Ensures complex messages are understood, actions are fully defined, and new processes embedded.

  • Be seen as a key SME within the business representing area of responsibility in core working and steering groups.

  • Plan, co-ordinate and support with internal and external assurance and audit reviews ensuring deliverables and findings are agreed and addressed timely.

  • Deputise for the Line Manager as business require.

  • Ensure that you and your team fully understand and comply with the organisation’s Risk Management Policies as they relate to your area of responsibility and demonstrate in your day-to-day work that you put customers at the heart of everything you do.

  • Ensure you fully understand and comply with the organisation’s Data Governance Policies and demonstrate in your day-to-day work that you treat data as an important corporate asset which must be protected and managed.

  • Line manage all aspects of performance management, development, conduct, sickness management, appraisals, employee administration and recruitment.

  • The role may involve travel to other offices in the UK, to India and to third party sites as business needs require.

Essential Experience & Skills:

  • 2 years recent experience in a risk control self-assessment or quality assurance role, and experience working in a UK Financial Services organisation.

  • Detailed knowledge of HMRC/TISA/AEOI/BBSI retail customer regulatory reporting, knowledge of FSCS (SCV) and access of continuity processes.

  • Detailed knowledge of development and reporting on data quality metrics.

  • Excellent knowledge of governance structures and chairing of committee meetings.

  • Advance skills in managing and communicating with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Excellent understanding of change management principles and governance.
