​A fantastic opportunity for a Collections Agent to collect debts and resolve outstanding balances, ensuring the complete repayment of loans. The role requires a high level of organisation and excellent communication skills to manage expectations both internally and externally with clients and solicitors ensuring difficulties in collecting repayments are escalated appropriately and effectively. You will be chasing debt within bridging loans and specialised lending.

Collections Agent Responsibilities:

•Collaborate with the internal finance team on debt collection.

•Contacting debtors by phone and email to understand any delays in repayment and negotiate debt recovery.

• Develop payment plans to support repayment of loans.

• Clear communication of debt repayment plans and options to debtors both verbally and in writing to ensure clear understanding.

•Locate debtors through publicly available databases such as Credit bureau information, background checks and loan documentation.

•Processing high volumes of information to maintain accurate records of debtor addresses and phone numbers to support debt recovery efforts.

•Ensuring compliance with the Fair Debt Collections Act.

•Where appropriate, engage solicitors in the collection of repayments.

•Maintaining accurate records of repayment and repayment plans

Experience & Skills:

•Excellent interpersonal skills

•Attention to detail, high-level numeracy and an understanding of financial processes.

•Expert knowledge of databases, word processors and spreadsheets

•Proven customer service skills

•Exceptional organisation skills

•Ability to multi-task and prioritise effectively.

•Problem solving approach and solutions driven.

•Clear understanding of FDCPA regulations

•Previous experience in a collections agent or debt collections role.
