My client, a leading Top 20 accountancy practice, urgently require a qualified Tax senior/ Assistant Manager who is looking to progress their career within a growing team.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of trust accounts, trust tax returns and R185s
  • Carrying out estate and probate compliance including IHT and probate forms, estate accounts and calculations
  • Supervising a small team, including reviewing work, coaching and mentoring
  • Managing a trust and estate portfolio and dealing with administration on a timely basis, including working with administrator to arrange distributions to beneficiaries
  • Dealing with ad hoc queries and advice matters - including creation and dissolution of trust structures, suitability of trusts for different circumstances and planning for decennial charges
  • Liaising with third parties such as banks, investment managers, trustee companies and lawyers
  • Communicating with external trustees and beneficiaries as well as HMRC
  • Dealing with offshore trusts and foundations as well as onshore trusts
  • Some self-assessment work may be included as part of the portfolio

 

Being a qualified Tax Accountant you will have the following skills and experience

 

  • Preparation of trust accounts, trust tax returns and R185s
  • Estate and probate compliance including IHT and probate forms, estate accounts and calculations
  • Ability to supervise junior staff
  • Responsible for running a trust and estate portfolio and dealing with administration on a timely basis, including arranging distributions to beneficiaries and making tax payments
  • Liaising with third parties such as banks, investment managers, trustee companies and lawyers who may be providing information to us
  • Communicating with external trustees and beneficiaries as well as HMRC
  • Exposure to offshore trusts and foundations as well as onshore trusts
  • Involvement in planning using trusts and advising on IHT mitigation for executors of estates
  • Planning work including input into wills and lasting powers of attorney for clients
  • Development of IHT strategies for clients which may involve working with third parties
  • Preparation of self-assessment tax returns
